ARSF-USA Wish List

We are asking for donations of funds to cover the cost of these items. It is more cost effective to send money to Uganda to purchase needed items than to try to purchase them here and then send them. The cost is exorbitant and safe transport to the desired address is not always guaranteed in Uganda, so sending funds is preferred.

FOR SCHOOL OFFICE, LIBRARY, NURSE’S OFFICE AND CLASSES:

• text books for teachers' use ($5 and up per book)
• erasers, pens, individual pencil sharpeners ($.50 each item)
• library books ($10 and up per book)
• student bench-style desks ($30 per desk—inquire about current need)
• geometry sets ($10 per set)
• science laboratory (approx. $750)

PLAYGROUND AND MUSIC:

• soccer balls ($35 each)
• netball ($25 each)
• canvas shoes for sports ($10 per pair)
• small electric keyboard or piano ($350)
• costumes for concerts ($10 each)
• amplifier and microphone ($300)

FOR STUDENTS WHO LIVE AND WORK AT THE SCHOOL:

• blankets ($10 each)
• pairs of bed sheets ($7 each)
• towels ($5 each)
• uniforms ($10 each)
• sweaters ($5 each)
• shoes and stockings ($15 per set)
• sportswear casual wear for evenings and weekends ($15 per outfit)
• night wear ($5 per set)
• toothbrushes and tooth paste ($2 per set)
• shoe polish and brush for shining shoes ($4 per set)
• school bags for carrying composition books ($10 each)

MISCELLANEOUS:

• Funds for staffing the nurse’s clinic (license fees $100/year, salary $100/mo)
• Funds for emptying the pit toilets ($70 twice per year)
